Rachel Imsland is a ceramic artist and painter based in Madison, Wisconsin. Her work is characterized by organic forms, intentional irregularity, and a minimalist aesthetic. She creates vessels and sculptures with an emphasis on distinctive contours, tactile surfaces, and subtle variations in glaze and color. Across both functional and sculptural work, she embraces the individuality of the handmade and the beauty of imperfection.

Her glazes draw from the colors of the natural world, referencing landscapes, water, stone, and sky. These surfaces suggest depth and gentle movement, inviting touch and encouraging a slower, more contemplative way of looking. Her work ranges from functional vessels and orb forms to sculptural pieces that emphasize openings, interior space, and the interplay of positive and negative space.

She holds a BA in Art with an emphasis in painting from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, and has exhibited her ceramic work in group exhibitions nationally. Rachel is a juried member of the Madison Area Potters Guild and served on the Guild’s board from 2023–2025.
