Woodfired Shino Cup
This wood fired cup has a surface design made using the water etching technique, which forms a raised design on the surface of the clay. It was fired in a wood fire kiln and glazed in Malcolm’s Shino, then sprinkled with wood ash. The result is a gorgeous beige cup blushed with rose and mottled with gray and maroon. The simple form, with clean lines, give this piece a minimalist, modern aesthetic.
