Small Passage | Small Hand-Built Ceramic Sculpture with Layered Glaze

$160.00

Small Passage is a hand-built ceramic sculpture from my Throughspace series, exploring how space moves through and within a form. At a smaller scale, this piece feels more intimate—something to be held as much as observed.

The arched opening creates a quiet passage through the structure, allowing light and shadow to shift depending on its placement. Its form balances a more angular, architectural silhouette with softened edges shaped by hand.

Glazed in layered greens and warm ochres, the surface has a weathered, mineral quality, with subtle variations that echo stone, landscape, and time. Like other works in this series, the piece invites a slower way of looking—where the space within becomes as present as the form itself.

Part of my ongoing sculptural Throughspace series, these pieces explore the relationship between solid form and moving space. Each sculpture contains a passage that extends through the body of the piece, allowing light, air, breath, and gaze to pass through. The sculpture holds its shape, and space is given a place to move within and beyond.

Dimensions: 3.75 inches high x 4 wide x 1.75 deep; base is 3.25 × 2.25

Mid-fire clay with matte glaze that has subtle sheen and textural depth

Signed and one-of-a-kind

Shipping cost is included in the price.
